Vireo Player
Desktop media player · Windows, macOS, Linux
A media player for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Vireo plays the video and audio files you already have. It also corrects subtitles that drift out of sync, tone-maps HDR video to your display's brightness, and can send audio to your DAC or receiver unchanged.

How it works
Getting started
1
Download and open a file
Install Vireo on Windows, macOS or Linux and open a file, a folder or a network share. Every feature works for 14 days.
2
Play your files
Subtitles sync themselves, HDR is tone-mapped to your display and audio goes out untouched to your DAC or receiver.
3
Buy a license
Enter your license key to keep the advanced features. One key covers three computers and every 1.x update.
01
Automatic subtitle sync
Vireo compares the subtitle timing to the speech in the audio track and corrects both fixed offsets and slow drift, which is common with subtitles made for a different cut of the film. It runs locally and takes a few seconds per file.
- Automatic offset and drift correction
- SRT, ASS/SSA, WebVTT, PGS and VobSub
- Per-file subtitle style, size and position
- Dual subtitles, for example original plus translation
02
HDR tone mapping
HDR10 and HLG are tone-mapped to your display's real brightness instead of a generic curve. Save a calibration profile per monitor, and Vireo picks the right one when you move the window.
- HDR→SDR tone mapping (BT.2390, Hable, Mobius)
- Per-display calibration profiles
- Shader presets: sharpen, deband, upscaling
- Hardware decoding: D3D11, VideoToolbox, VA-API
03
Bit-perfect audio
Send audio to your DAC or receiver untouched. When you are listening on speakers or headphones, loudness normalization keeps quiet dialogue and loud scenes at a comfortable level.
- Bit-perfect output via WASAPI exclusive and CoreAudio hog mode
- Dolby TrueHD, Atmos and DTS-HD passthrough over HDMI
- EBU R128 loudness normalization
- Per-file audio track and delay memory
04
Library and network shares
Point Vireo at a folder on your computer, a NAS or a network share. It watches for new files, remembers where you stopped, and creates chapters for files that don't have them.
- SMB, NFS and WebDAV network sources
- Watch folders and resume position per file
- Automatic chapters from scene detection
- Frame stepping and A–B loop with clip export
- Cast to Chromecast and DLNA devices
Works with
- Windows 10 / 11
- macOS 12+
- Linux (Flatpak)
- SMB / NFS / WebDAV
- Chromecast
- DLNA
- HDMI passthrough
- USB DACs

FAQ
Common questions.
Something else? See the Vireo Player help guide or email support@techglobellc.com.
Is it really a one-time payment?
Yes. $9.99 buys a lifetime license for Vireo 1.x, including every 1.x update. If we release a 2.0 with major new features, upgrading will be optional and existing 1.x installs keep working.
Can I try it before buying?
You can download Vireo and use every feature for 14 days without a license key. After that, playback still works but the advanced features (subtitle sync, tone mapping profiles, exclusive audio) need a license.
How many computers can I use it on?
Up to three computers that you personally own or use. You can deactivate a computer from the app or from your license page and move the license to another one.
Does Vireo include codecs for DVD and Blu-ray menus?
Vireo plays unencrypted video files and disc folders. It does not decrypt copy-protected discs or play disc menus.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Email support@techglobellc.com within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.
