Subtitle sync didn't work
Sync needs at least two minutes of dialogue. For files with long silent intros, start sync after the dialogue begins (Subtitles → Sync from here). Image-based subtitles (PGS, VobSub) are synced by timing only.

Getting started
Installing Vireo, activating your license and the most common settings.
Set up in four steps

Install
Run the Windows installer, open the macOS .dmg and drag Vireo to Applications, or install the Flatpak on Linux. Builds are code-signed.

Open your media
Drag a file onto the window, use File → Open, or add a folder or network share under Library → Sources.

Activate your license
Help → Enter license key. Paste the key from your receipt email. The computer appears on your license page.

Move to a new computer
Help → Deactivate this computer, then activate on the new one. You can also deactivate from the license page if the old computer is gone.

Common questions
Choosing a tone-mapping curve
BT.2390 is the default and the most accurate. Hable keeps more highlight detail on dim displays. Mobius preserves saturated colours. Set your display's measured peak brightness for best results.
Exclusive-mode audio
Settings → Audio → Output mode → Exclusive. Other apps can't play sound while Vireo has the device. If you hear nothing, check that the sample rate is supported by your DAC.
Is my license tied to an account?
No account is needed. The license key from your receipt is all you need. Activation sends only the key and a random computer ID; no viewing data is ever sent.
